Birmingham City University is looking for a Facilities Manager that is professional with a flexible, committed and enthusiastic approach to contract performance within facilities management.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Estates & Facilities, this role will have a strong focus towards managing soft FM contract performances and will be an active member of the Facilities senior management team.
This post is responsible for managing key strategic contracts in Facilities Management such as cleaning and waste. It will also have involvement in procuring and managing all types of small contracts within the FM department and improving the value we get from all our FM outsourced contracts which overall has a cost value of circa £1.8m per annum.
In meeting service delivery expectations, these contracts are essential and critical services to the operation of our buildings. This role will ensure that the contracts are compliant and operating against accurate SLAs through effective performance data, monitoring of KPIs and continual improvement practices.
To be successful in the role, the FM Manager will work alongside the other FM Manager’s in the department to demonstrate a genuine commitment to providing a high standard of customer service; an ability to take ownership of problems and work hard to resolve them, have good communication, team working and problem solving skills and have a positive, flexible approach to the role.
You will be highly skilled in influencing, negotiating and have exceptional communication skills in a highly focused customer service role within a facilities environment. A relevant professional qualification in contract management or FM. Experience in higher education is desirable.
