Scope of Position:
The Salvation Army is seeking the right person to help lead The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store as Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager must be able to lead staff and interact with the public in a way that will positively affect the climate and culture of the store, that will result in high staff morale, that will produce satisfied customers, and that will increase sales. In a positive way, the Assistant Store Manager enforces the policies and procedures of The Salvation Army and ensures that the vision and directives of the Envoy In-Charge of the store (Store Manager) are accomplished. The Assistant Store Manager will lead a team of sorters, clerks, and cashiers (paid and volunteer) in sorting, fixing, cleaning, pricing, stocking, etc. donated merchandise for sale to the customers. The right person must be able to inspire safe but fast processing of merchandise through great work ethic, working smart (not hard), and inspiring pride in the accomplishment of store sales goals. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
