We are looking for a Senior Specialist IT Systems Development Engineer with advanced knowledge of systems administration and the installation and maintenance of Linux systems who is keen to work with academics to develop new technology based learning content and solutions to meet specific technical and curriculum requirements.

As a successful applicant you will manage, design, install, and configure a range of technical software and infrastructure systems which underpin specialist computing teaching, computation-based research and commercial activity. You will support academic staff and researchers in adopting state-of-the-art technologies and techniques into their teaching, research and commercial practice by undertaking project work to analyse problems and develop novel solutions to meet specific technical requirements.

You should have excellent programming or advanced technical implementation skills.  You will be confident in problem solving and troubleshooting, as well as having good team working, and communication skills. You should also have the ability to work independently and take appropriate initiative as you work with new technology to develop solutions to support our ambitious agenda for delivering innovative, industry-focused courses.
