Action on Hearing Loss
We help people confronting deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss to live the life they choose. We enable them to take control of their lives and remove the barriers in their way.
About the role:
Become part of a fantastic team that is internationally recognised for our work to accelerate the discovery and development of treatments for hearing loss and tinnitus. Working with universities and companies around the world, we are building research capacity, funding research projects to make important scientific discoveries and supporting the translation of promising discoveries into treatments.
You would join our Biomedical Research Group as the Research Programme Manager, administering our research funding programmes. Working with the Senior Research Programme Manager, you will manage our discovery and capacity-building grant schemes, including the Discovery Research Grant, PhD Studentship and Pauline Ashley Fellowship schemes, from application to post-award monitoring of funded grants. You will also be responsible for developing and improving our grant processes and systems, including our grants management database. You will also support our science communications activities, working closely with our fundraising and marketing teams to help increase public understanding of and support for hearing research.
You will need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a scientific subject with excellent communication and administrative skills. But, above all, you must be able to demonstrate the drive and ability to make things happen.
