The University of Liverpool, in association with Valuechain.com is seeking to appoint a Blockchain Research Engineer (KTP Associate). Valuechain.com is a UK based company producing smart supply chain management software solutions for advanced manufacturing sectors such as aerospace and defence. The software enables manufacturing organisations to increase productivity, openly collaborate with supply chain partners and generate intelligence so they can build world class supply chains. You will be based at the Valuechain.com site in Daresbury.

An exciting opportunity to work as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate has arisen as part of a 36-month KTP with the University of Liverpool. This project offers the opportunity to take on research challenges in the application of distributed ledger technology in the developments of the new generation of supply chain support systems. 

As a KTP Associate, you will work in conjunction with the Department of Computer Science at the

University of Liverpool.  In this role the Blockchain Research Engineer (KTP Associate) will work on the development of a Valuechain Intelligence Transfer Authorisation Ledger (VITAL) based on blockchain technology which will address the issues of sharing data which are subject of security concerns and commercial sensitivities.

The successful candidate will also enjoy a personal £4,000 development budget.

You should have a Masters/PhD level degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline, with experience with at least one of the following: blockchain algorithms/distributed ledger technologies, smart contracts, trusted  data storage, secure data processing. The role requires proficiency in software development, ideally including an industrial experience. 

This role would suit an individual with good team working skills and an ability to communicate and implement complex ideas and concepts effectively.
